Scarborough Secondary blanked long-time rival Signal Hill 2-0 in their BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Tobago Zone encounter at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet to open a two-point lead at the top of the five-team table.

Buoyed by its 5-2 blow-out of Roxborough on Saturday at Settlement, Scarborough took the field a confident bunch and went ahead in the 30th minute through Valdez Perez while Devon David got the insurance item four minutes from full-time.
 
The win carried Scarborough to seven points from three matches, two ahead of Speyside which was held to a 1-1 draw by Mason Hall in Wednesday’s first match at Bacolet.
 
Mason Hall struck first in the 13th minute thanks to Akini James but Speyside earned a share of the points via Brandon Benjamin’s 75th equaliser.
 
Meanwhile, two matches in the Central Zone are set to go before the SSFL’s Disciplinary Committee which is headed by Assistant Secretary of the league, Lawrence Seepersad.
 
Contacted yesterday, Keith Kirton, the Central Zone Chairman said that perennial Central Zone champions, Carapichaima East, currently top of the six-team table has lodged a protest over its 2-1 loss at Home Land Gardens to second placed Chaguanas North Secondary—based on the grounds of its opponents’ use of a transfered player who does not meet the playing criteria of the competition.
 
In addition, the outcome of Wednesday’s encounter between Presentation College of Chaguanas and Gasparillo at Guaracara Park, Point-a-Pierre is also set to be heard by the Disciplinary Committee.
 
This after the encounter was called off at half-time with Presentation 1-0 ahead due to the fact that no officials were on the Gasparillo team bench.

However, the match between Chaguanas North and Tabaquite, which was postponed at Home Land Gardens on Wednesday due to a lack of match officials will be re-scheduled for a date to be announced.
