“NAPARIMA College will count on new talent when the 2016 Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) kicks off next week.
Manager of the team Percy Samlalsingh said despite the loss of players they are optimistic.
Samlalsingh said, “(The preparations are) good so far with the resources we’ve had in terms of personnel.
The only negative I would say is the amount of players that have moved on.” The team manager said 12 players will be missing when the season begins next week but said the team will make use of the available players.
Naparima, which started training in the second week of July, recently held a successful camp in Tobago.
Samlalsingh said the camp was beneficial and the Naparima players got to match their skills against Super League teams from Tobago.
“It went well. We carried these young boys to play against big men such as Phoenix, Bethel which are Super League teams and they held their own.” Asked what teams can dethrone Naparima this year Samlalsingh stated.
“For me everybody I think lost a lot of players this year. St Anthony’s as usual will came hard along with our rivals Pres in South. St Mary’s and Fatima have some good youths coming up but the usual suspects and big names will be performing.”
