Defending champions Presentation College Chaguanas made a grand start in their BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League Central Zone first round match at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva yesterday.
Presentation proved to be too much for Marabella Junior Secondary, playing at this level for the first time, getting home 8-0.
Striker Marvin Manswell was in tremendous form as he booted home a beaver-trick to lead the way for the Central champs.
Marabella looked a good unit for the first 15 minutes of play but ran out of steam before Pres took control of the encounter.
Presentation went into the lead through an unmarked Manswell who shot home from close up in the 17th minute. The same player found the net again four minutes later to see Pres to a 2-0 lead at the half.
Manswell added two more in the second half, while Dion Lewis netted a double.
Anthony Pegus and Anthony Goddard were the other marksmen for Presentation.
Action in the Central Zone will continue today as Carapichaima take on Tabaquite Composite at Tabaquite. That game is expected to be an exciting affair as both teams have some experienced and talented players in their line-up.
Among those to note in the Carps squad are Ronald Cotton, Kellon Green, Kervon Smith, Julien Landeau, Keron Corbette, Tigan Costello and Devon James.
But playing in front of their home crowd, where a large turnout is always expected, Tabaquite will be depending on Renaldo Fraser, Ancil Santana, Keron Woodruffe and Calvin Duprey to give their fans something to cheer about.
In the other match scheduled, for the Ato Boldon Stadium, Union Claxton Bay will tackle Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive.
