Defence Force marched into the Final of the 2012 Toyota Classic by defeating defending champions DIRECTV W Connection 3:0 on Friday night in semi-final two at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The comfortable win came courtesy a first half goal by defender Rodell Elcock and second half goals by Kevon Carter and substitute Jerwyn Balthazar which sealed the comfortable victory.

The Soldiers move into the Final against semi-final one winners North East Stars on Friday 7 December from 8pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

North East Stars defeated Super League club Stokely Vale 4:1 on kicks from the penalty spot after a hard-fought 1:1.

But for Defence Force, 7:0 winners over Westside Superstarz in the quarter-final round, the journey to the Final seemed a bit easier.

Elcock fired the Soldiers ahead in the 30th minute with precise timing to volley a Curtis Gonzales cross past Connection goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams from just inside the area for a 1:0 advantage.

That score-line lasted well into the second period and after Richard Roy missed an excellent opportunity in the 73rd minute, Carter doubled Defence Force's advantage 2:0 in the 75th minute.

The speedy winger made one of his telling runs down the left before turning past Colombian Christian Viveros and firing past Williams to find the back of the net.

Midfielder Balthazar then wrapped up the 3:0 score in the 85th minute with a clinical finish from outside the area beating Williams and the ball hitting inside the left upright before nestling into the right netting.

It's the first time in the tournament's 8-year history that Defence Force reached the Final. Meantime it's a second for North East Stars and Head Coach Angus Eve. Eve was an assistant coach to Michael Mc Comie at Ma Pau SC in 2010 when that club defeated North East Stars on penalties in the Final.
