The Organising Committee of the Lucky Barkery-sponsored Eastern Football Association Women’s Super Football League have been forced to suspend the league until further notice.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at Lucky Bakery’s Third Avenue, Barataria office and was chaired by its chief executive officer, Harrilal Persad.

The meeting was called to discuss the prevailing circumstances affecting the League inclusive of: The present state of emergency in the country as it affects the Defence Force team; The difficulties experienced by North Coast United with regards to travelling and players on national duty with the senior and Under-17 women’s team, who can only participate matches on Wednesdays.

Those problems were felt mainly by Water One Real Dimension, Malick City and Adams’ Construction San Juan Jabloteh and at the conclusion of the meeting it was decided to suspend th League until those circumstances have sufficiently improved and also abandon the knockout competition for the year 2011.

Reached for comment, Neville Ferguson, general secretary of the EFA said once the national players become available it will ease up the problems and matches will resume.
