Nineteen year-old Stokely Vale FC striker Lashawn Roberts was named the Tobago Football Association’s MVP at its 2017 prize-giving function at Fair Field Complex, Bacolet, last Saturday.

Roberts also won the 2017 Golden Boot Award for the Premier League, after scoring 43 goals in the season. Roberts recently returned to Tobago from trials in Czech Republic.

Moriah Youths FC’s Kino Proctor was named MVP for the Second Division after leading his team to promotion to the top flight.

Stokely Vale FC walked away with the Premier League top prize of a trophy and $50,000, while Signal Hill FC took the runner-up prize of $25,000.

FC Goodwood took the Second Division Trophy and $25,000. Black Rock FC took home the $25,000 prize as FA champions. Runners up were Calder Hall FC, who collected $12,000.

The 2018 TFA 2018 season is expected to begin during the last week of May. Among some of the new features expected are a Sunday Morning Youth League and a Tobago Invitational Tournament featuring regional teams. The TFA is collaborating with former national players to make the latter a reality.
