The Tobago Football Association (TFA) Premier Division Championship tournament is on course for a similar climax like last year, where the winner was decided in the final round of games.

Second place Charlotteville Unifiers registered a hard fought victory against table toppers Stokely Vale to pull within three points with a game outstanding.

Coaching School gave Castara Goal City a sound 5-0 thrashing to jump to fourth position, one point behind third place Goal City with a game in hand.

Charlotteville registered two goals in the first 20 minutes courtesy Kevon Martin and Kerwin Murphy and from then on its was an uphill task for the team from Plymouth, coached by James 'Flabbert' Campbell.

Charlotteville preserved their lead for the first half in an evenly balanced and entertaining period of play though the score line did not reflect this.

On the resumption Stokely Vale came out with a mission, to erase the deficit and took the attack to their opponents whose second half strategy seemed to be to defend their lead at all cost and launch quick and surprise counter attacks once in a while.

The attacking Stokely Vale created some good chances through some deft passes and sensible utilisation of space but they just could not get past the last line of defence, the goal keeper. Eventually, from one of their numerous incursions into the 18 yards box, one of their players was brought down and Michael Carrington scored the resulting penalty in the 79th minute. With ten minutes remaining the Plymouth boys attacked with full force for the equaliser but Charlotteville were not to be denied as they held on for the victory to keep their title hopes alive.

NLCB Mt Grace were defeated by Earlbrookes 2-0 to remain firmly entrenched in the cellar position and seemed destined to return to the Zonal Conference.
