The Tobago Football Association (TFA) 2005 season kicked off last Sunday at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet last Sunday.

The afternoon's activities featured a double header with newly promoted Roxborough Lakers meeting FA runner's up Sidey's F.C and the main encounter St Clair's Coaching School, League and Knock out champions clashing with League's runner's up Charlotteville Unifiers for the Charity Cup.

In the first game of the double header that signal the opening of the 2005 season Sidey's squandered a two goal lead which they took deep into the second half and allowed Lakers to come storming back to even the contest at two-all.

Kerron Gray 35th and Akeino Gray 965th were on target for Sidey's while a Sellon Gray penalty in the 76th minute and a header by Kwasi Beckles deep into stoppage time earned Lakers a creditable draw.

The evening's feature match was an ill-tempered affair with two players from Unifiers and one from Coaching School being sent off.

A 37th minute strike by Downie Marcelle gave Coaching School a 1-0 half time lead. Collecting the ball in an inside left position, he dribbled a defender and an advancing goal keeper to slot the ball home from an acute angle.

They went further into the lead in the 80th minute through midfielder Kirsten Benjamin.

His header from a right side cross cannoned off a defender and looped over the head of the goal keeper to lodge into the back of the net. Jerome Toby put the icing on the cake for the winners to complete a dominant 'School's' performance. He found himself unmarked at the far post from a right side cross to tap home from five metres with keeper Brown scrambling to cover.
