Stokely Vale Football Club enriched its coffers by $58,000 courtesy its successes in the 2007 Tobago Football Association competitions. Close to $220,000 was distributed to the respective winners.

The Plymouth based team collected $40,000 for winning the League championship title, $7,000 for finishing third in the Pepsi FA and $11,000 for winning the inaugural Community Cup at the association's prize giving function hosted at the VIP Lounge, Dwight Yorke Stadium last Wednesday.

The Stokely Vale Club just managed to hold off the charging pack at the end of the season that included Charlotteville Unifiers, St Clair Coaching School and Castara Retreat Goal City in another very keenly contested League Championship tournament that saw just one point separating the League Champions from the first runners-up.

In delivering the feature address, former Senate vice president, Rawle 'Axe Back' Titus spoke of the game of the World Under 17 Finals in Trinidad and Tobago and the Senior National Football team's recent sojourn to the World Cup Finals.

He asked, "What did we learn from these experiences? What did the people that went to Germany learn? And what are the benefits?" He also addressed the state of football in Tobago, boasting that there was a time when there could hardly be a National Football team without the presence of Tobago footballers on it but this was not so today. He said certain things have remained constant, the National talent and desire to play and dream of making it to the top, but the discipline and commitment were missing.

He stressed that with renewed discipline and commitment, "we can take advantage of the assets we have and engage in a fresh thrust towards a new resurgence of football in Tobago".

TFA president Harvey Jack also addressed the audience on the topic, "Leadership, Volunteerism and Motivation".

He chided his fellow executive members, many of whom were not present for their tardiness and noted that motivating the clubs and players to be responsible became more difficult when the administrators do not set the example.
