Devon Modeste scored early and very late as St Ann's Rangers held Police FC to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night in their Round One Match Day Seven Digicel Pro League encounter at Manny Ramjohn Stadium.
And in the second match of the doubleheader, North East Stars needed an 83rd minute item from substitute Elijah Manners to pluck a late 1-0 win over bottom of the table T&TEC FC.
The victory pushed the Stars up a spot into third on the standings with ten points, three behind second positioned Caledonia AIA (13 points) and six points away from leaders Defence Force (16 points).
Meanwhile. Police and Rangers remained sixth and seventh with six and five points respectively on the standings.
In the first match on Saturday, St Ann's Rangers player Modeste was pushed into a centre forward position and the move paid dividends for head coach Dean Pacheco.
Modeste fired Rangers ahead in the 12th minute with a powerful blast past Police goalkeeper Keston Mata after meeting a well timed through-ball from talented midfielder Kurdell Braithwaite.
And in the 94th minute, Modeste earned Rangers a late point after his team found themselves trailing by two goals.
Modeste got a final touch, heading into the net after a corner from the left was headed back across goal by substitute Kyle Bartholomew in the final minute of the game.
The late goal left a sour taste in the mouths of the Lawmen, who first leveled the scores 1-1 in the 27th minute when Errol Charles headed past Zane Coker from Kareem Perry's cross.
Coach Richard Hood's side then got the breakaway goal in the 64th minute when Anton Hutchinson headed in a Trent Noel freekick for a 2-1 advantage.
But Modeste had the final say in the last minute of regulation time, eventually making up for a mistake in the 78th minute when he missed a clear cut opportunity in front of goal thanks to a cross from great substitute Hector Sam.
In the later match, a 0-0 deadlock was finally broken following an embarrassing slip-up by T&TEC goalkeeper Akini Adams who allowed what seemed a harmless cross to slip through his gloves and legs to make its way to Manners.
The North East Stars substitute did enough to play the ball into the back of the T&TEC net and steal full points.
