North East Stars midfielder Keron Cummings scored with two minutes of regulation time left on Saturday at the Larry Gomes Stadium to earn North East Stars a late 1-1 draw with Caledonia AIA in their final Digicel Pro League 2014-2015 match.

The draw, courtesy Cumming’s 88th minute strike for his seventh league goal this season, shot the Angus Eve coached-North East Stars up a spot into fourth place with 34 points, one point ahead of Point Fortin Civic, who must face eight placed Police FC from 8 pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Tuesday 5 May in the closing match of the 2014-2015 DPL championship.

While Caledonia, who moved up one spot into seventh place with 27 points, must return to action on Tuesday from 6 pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium to tackle cellar placed St. Ann’s Rangers in the qualifier match of the 2015 Digicel Pro Bowl, which is set to begin on Friday 8 May with the quarterfinal round.

On Saturday Guyana international Purnell Schultz handed Caledonia a 15th minute lead at the Malabar venue, with his 13th league goal of the season, but the Jerry Moe coached-Morvant/Laventille side were denied maximum points in the end by the 2015 TTFA FA Trophy winners North East Stars.

It was the sixth league draw this season for Caledonia, who finished with 7 wins and 10 defeats, while the Sangre Grande based-North East Stars finished with 9 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats, 21 points away from league champions Central FC (55 points). W Connection (49 points) finished in second and Defence Force (39 points) in third.
