It is the view of manager of the Defence Force Henry Charles that his team have given up too many easy goals, hence he has decided to strengthen the defensive department in his team.

The Army/Coast guard outfit has so far brought in three additions to his unit, two defenders, Addison Belfon and Lyndon Diaz as well as Goalkeeper Marvin Phillips.

Having played with the Army last season, Belfon is returning to the Defence Force after a short break, while Lyndon Diaz another sturdy defender has come across from W Connection where he plied his trade last season.

Mr. Henry also seemed to have solved his goal keeping problems having acquired the services of former National under 20 Goalkeeper and Starworld Strikers Marvin Phillips.

Phillips has been out of action for a while having served a 6 month ban for reportedly spitting on referee Ramesh Ramdhan last season.

Mr. Henry Charles told ttproleague.com, “I thought these additions were necessary as our defence seemed to be our weak point in the first half of the season, as we continued to concede easy goals.”

“As far as the goal keeping position, Marvin Phillips is a big addition as there was a serious void in that department as we had to use Ross Russel in goal in a few matches,” added Charles.

The Defence Force Manager ended by saying, “We are aiming to finish off the 2nd half of the season on a high, realistically, we want to finish 2nd as it is almost impossible for us to catch leaders W Connection.”
