There are two teams still yet to be confirmed for the 2006 season in the T&T Pro League, if the League is to field ten teams in the upcoming season.


CEO of the Pro League Dexter Skeene is however still hopeful they will reach the 10 team limit, he told ttproleague.com, “Ideally we would like to have ten teams this season, we are still hopeful we can reach that target, Joe Public has already been confirmed and I am optimistic by the middle of next week we will be able to be confirm the two remaining teams.”

The ‘Eastern Lions’ of Joe Public are the only additional team to be confirmed so far—joining champions Vibe CT 105 W Connection, CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh, National Quarries North East Stars, Neal and Massy Caledonia AIA, Tobago United, United Petrotrin and Defence Force

The League held meetings last week with two of the top clubs in the Super League—Superstar Rangers and Wasa Clean and White—after Crab Connection opted out of the running.

According to the Mr. Skeene, “It was all preliminary discussions, with the intention of laying out the league’s requirements before entry, and the both teams are to now get back to us with certain relevant information in order to prove their worthiness to play at the professional level.”

The former National Womens Coach says, he is hoping to have confirmation by the middle of next week.

However also in the running, is Starworld Strikers, Dexter Skeene also verified that Starworld is in discussions with the league as they are very much interested to come back in the fray, after they were forced to pull out in 2004 because of financial difficulties.
