Kerry Noray hugh Ma Pau teammate Clayton Ince.Former England based and Ma Pau SC goalkeeper Clayton Ince has signed a two year deal with TT Pro League debutant T&TEC FC.

The 38 year old former Trinidad and Tobago international and Defence Force player featured for Ma Pau SC last season as Assistant Coach/Player after returning to his homeland following lengthy spells with English League One side Crewe Alexandra (1999-2005) and Walsall (2006-2010).

Ince, T&T’s most capped goalkeeper, will now fill the role of player/goalkeeping coach with the San Fernando based Pro League club according to T&TEC head coach Dexter Cyrus.

Cyrus, who led T&TEC to the Super League and Knockout titles in 2010 which prompted the club’s move to the Pro League, said acquiring the services of Ince wasn’t a difficult one.

“Firstly I’m actually a huge fan of Ince,” said the former Trinidad and Tobago international. “We are former National teammates so I know Ince very well.

“Personally it wasn’t difficult getting him on board. Our Manager Peter Mohan also knows Ince very well, so it was just a matter of getting him to understand what we are about at T&TEC. And we are confident that he would bring a lot of knowledge and experience to our team as we enter into our first season at the Pro League level.”

Ince proved himself returning to local football last season when his heroics between the uprights helped Ma Pau SC secure the Toyota Classic even picking up the Player of the Tournament award.

In February of this year he made his playing debut for Ma Pau with a 3-0 Toyota Classic Round of 16 win against FC SouthEnd.

He then rescued the side to a 5-4 penalty win over Caledonia AIA in the quarterfinal round and then another 5-4 penalties victory after a 2-2 draw against San Juan Jabloteh in the semi-final round. In the Final, Ince was at it again making a couple saves on kicks from the penalty spot for a 3-0 victory following a 1-1 draw against North East Stars.
