KIMIKA FORBES is the only Trinidad and Tobago national vying for 2016 end-of-season honours in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football Associations (CONCACAF), the regional governing body for the sport.

Tobago-born Forbes is one of nine candidates vying for CONCACAF Female Goalkeeper Of The Year. The 26-year-old has the distinction of being the first T&T goalkeeper to play in Paraguay, where her team Limpeno Sportivo compete against Brazil’s Adi Foz Cataratas today in the Copa Libertadores semi-finals. The game will be shown from 6.30 p.m., on Fox Sports 2.

Forbes’ Paraguayan club enter the Copa Libertadores semis unbeaten on seven points, finishing second in group A on goal-difference. Their Brazilian opponents were winners of Group B.

Affectionately known as the “Rojiblanco”, they thrashed University of Peru 4-0 and edged to Colón FC of Uruguay 3-2 before tying 0-0 with UAI Urquiza (Argentina).
