Murray State Head Soccer Coach Beth Acreman announced the signing of defender Katrina Meyer.

Meyer is from Trinidad and Tobago where she is a member and starter of the women’s senior national team under coach Jamal Shabazz.

Meyer competed in the 06 CONCACAF Cup.  She also competes in the off season for Joe Public Soccer Club in the Trinidad & Tobago Women’s League and was player of the year in the league in 2003 for Coach Marlon Charles.

Meyer transfers to Murray from USC Upstate where she was a key player.  She started every game during her two year stint with Upstate.

Coach Beth Acreman is excited to sign a player with two years collegiate experience under her belt to join the 2006 Racer squad.

"Katrina is an experienced defender who has been a consistent starter for Trinidad and Tobago National Team at the U19, U21, and senior level," Acreman said. "She will add to an already strong line-up and give maturity and consistency to our backline."

"I feel lucky to find such an experienced player to join our team so late in the recruiting process," Acreman added "I am confident that she will do well for us here as a Murray State Racer".

Trinidad and Tobago Assistant Coach Jinelle James describes Meyer as a "committed, intelligent, and determined defender"
