Trinidad and Tobago senior woman team player Ahkeela Mollon heads to Iceland as the talented winger was scooped up by Stjarnan F.C.

Who are you going to play for?
Stjarnan F.C. which is located in Gareabear Iceland

For how long?
I will be playing with the team for the entire season, which is usually 4 month long season.

How did you get on the team? Who set it up, id you try out, were you recommended? stuff like that.
Over the years while playing on my collegiate team, University of South Carolina I had a lot off coaches from many different countries approach me to come play ball.. However 1 off those coaches was from Iceland, so after my disappointment concerning my tryout with the Boston Breakers, I had decided to take up on the offer from that coach, who was link to many teams in Iceland

How does it feel to be heading to Iceland to play?
It's an exciting feeling to be heading to Iceland, by the sound off the word alone many people/players will be intimidated, because they will suspect that Iceland will be very cold, and maybe it is (smile), but it will be another obstacle in my book off life I will be able to say I over come... It's also about letting the people from Iceland know that there are many talented female players in Trinidad and Tobago, which in return will open doors for the young players coming up to one day be able to play professional in a far away place like Iceland... The football in Iceland is pretty high, and I will be playing with 1 off the top teams there, so that in it self is very exciting... It's all part off the preparation for me, concerning the upcoming national team games, 1 tournament in particular, the PAN AMERICAN GAMES, later on in this year.

How disappointed were you that you did not make the last team you tried out for?
Well disappointed is and will always be apart off our life in one way or the another... And that is what exactly happen to me after trying out with the Boston Breakers... I went there perform, started 4/5 training games against other teams, the coach kept saying, "keep working hard you doing good, you exactly what we looking for in a player". So that's exactly what I did for 1 month, yes 1 month I waited for the coach to one day tell me that "you a very good player, but you not design for a league like this". I mean no player will ever want to hear a coach say such words to them, but I took his words and not for once let it keep me down.. Now I am heading back to Europe with yet another adventure ahead off me. I tend to laugh in the face off disappointment because I know that God purpose for my life is bigger than man purpose....

How long were you playing for your last club in Sweden? (which club was it again?)
I played 3 years in Sweden, 2 years with Kvarsvedens IK and 1 year Djurgarden IK.

How different do you think this experience will be? what do you look forward to?
I look forward to a new brand off football, and I think from what I have inquire about the Icelandic brand off football, they tend to play more off a direct style off football, even though Sweden style off football is similar , Icelandic style is mainly direct which suits me well with my speed and my position on the field (outside mid).

Why did you decide to leave your last club?
I was looking for a new form off excitement, when you play in a league for over 3 years, sometimes as a player you desire more. You want to move on and see how other countries play ball and want to be apart off that excitement... I love experiencing new people and new environment and I think change is important for growth in ones life... It's all part off my growth process, MOVING ON.

Who inspires you to go out there and continue to make your footballing career a successful one?
Firstly without the heavenly father I wouldn't be able to accomplish so much, so the love off God keeps me going.. The support I received from my family have been amazing, my mom and dad have always been by my side cheering me on to be the best I can be, and I will forever be grateful to them for their support. And to my fiancé (Walter Moore), (with a smile on my face), no words can explain how he step into my life and challenge me to be the best that I can be.. He is my number 1 supporter and he pushes me to be better than I am each and everyday, and sometimes it gets a little competitive between us, since he also plays professional currently in the USA... There is always a  juggling ,shooting , crossing contest between us both..

In closing what will you like to say
Keeping putting God first in all that you do, and watch him work in your life. I am a living example to how if you let God direct your path, you never know where next you will end up, but rest assure it will be unforgettable (smile)... God trails are always much more fun.
