T&T Women's U-17 vs BermudaBermuda are through to the semifinals of the 2013 CFU Women’s Under 17 Cup currently being played in Haiti by virtue of a hard fought 1-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago.

A single moment of brilliance from Aaliyah Nolan in the 50th minute was all it took for Bermuda to breathe a sigh of relief and prepare for the next round; however they still have one more game to play against Grenada on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Nolan was the recipient of a lovely pass from Eva Frazzoni which landed inside the 18 yard box and she crushed the ball past a diving Nicolette Craig in the Trinidadian goal.

Trinidad’s five goal heroine of the previous game, Zoe Swift, was completely shut out by Bermuda’s defence who came with a game plan to limit the amount of space she had to operate with, and reduced her touches; a plan which worked to perfection on the evening.

Coach of Bermuda, Aaron Denkins, was elated with the win and said his girls worked hard for the victory. “Trinidad is always a good team to play against and this was a good win as we look to move forward,” said Denkins.

Trinidad and Tobago control their own destiny for the remainder of the competition, a win against the Dominican Republic on Wednesday evening will assure them of a semifinal appearance; a loss would be devastating if Grenada defeats Bermuda in the 4 p.m. match.
