Coosal’s Las Lomas United secured its second straight victory, which saw the club maintain the pole position in the Henry Franklin Group, following a 3-0 shutout of Fire Services when action continued in the Central Football Association (CFA) Premier Division, on Friday.

Las Lomas completed a rout after taking nearly an hour to get on the scoresheet. Simon Joseph scored in the 57th, and the advantage for Las Lomas was quickly doubled when Steven Lewis scored just seven minutes later. The win was wrapped up with a Kareem Joseph strike in the 89th minute.

The result kept Las Lomas ahead of Edinburgh 500 in the standing by a solitary point, with the latter team remaining with a match in hand. Edinburgh secured a second straight win with a 2-0 triumph over Xtrafoods Chaguanas.

Eagles United, meanwhile, went clear at the top of the Hugo Francis Group without having to kick a ball. Eagles defeated bottom-of-the-table Flamengo 3-0 by default to see the 2012 Super League CFA representative to its third win in as many matches.

A double-header was scheduled for both groups last evening. Action will continue in both groups today, when Las Lomas and Edinburgh 500 clash in a match of the unbeaten teams in the Henry Franklin Group, at Madras Recreation Ground, Cunupia, from 6 pm. Caroni Tabaquite and Leeds FC, meet in a Hugo Francis Group fixture at Tabaquite Recreation Ground, at 7 pm.
