SKHY FC and House of Dread advanced to the Eastern Football Association FA Trophy final after contrasting semifinal wins on the weekend.
At the Youth Training Centre Ground, Arouca, Kevaughn John scored a goal in each half as SKHY FC battled past T&T Prisons 3-2
John opened the scoring in the 25th, but Jemol Pierre ensured Prisons entered the half-time interval at 1-1 with his 40th minute penalty conversion.
Three minutes after the restart, SKHY regained the lead courtesy an own goal by Prisons while John got his second in the 55th for a 3-1 cushion.
But Prisons did not go away easily and reduced the defiict to 3-2 five minutes through Barry Carrington, but that was as close as his team would get as SKHY held on to reach its first ever FA final.
A day later, Danny Seetahal notched a pair of goals as early as the fourth minute and five minutes after the resumption for House of Dread to blank former winners’ Carib FC at St Augustine Senior Secondary Ground, Warren Street.
Tomorrow, T&T Prisons and Carib will meet in the third place at St Augustine from 3.30 pm while a date and venue for the final is yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, Elements got a double from Canias Wilson to whip FCM Supreme 3-1 at keep its promotion hopes from the First Division alive.
With the win, Elements climbs to 12 points from seven matches, the as T&T Air Guard which has a match in hand, and two behind leaders Barataria Ball Players which has also played only six matches. League matches will resume January 7, 2015.
