Both FC Maloney and Malabar Superstars started the Premiership Division of the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association league competition on a winning note on the weekend.

A double by Kareem Perry (39th and 57th) steered Maloney past Upper Santa Cruz 2-0; while Malabar, paced by second-half goals from Wendell Hunte (49th), Dwight Williams (51st) and Saphroy Gould (67th), whipped Athletico 3-1.

In the First Division, Creek, La Horquetta, 1st FC Santa Rosa, Tunapuna Titans and Malabar were off to flying starts with victories.
