Kevin Lezama registered a second-half double to lead Athletico Sports Institute to an entertaining 3-2 win over FC Maloney in the Emerald Apartments & Plaza Eastern Football Assocaition Premier Division league on Sunday. Kareem Perry fired Maloney into an 18th minute lead which it held until the half. Four minutes after the restart, Lezama got Athletico level, but Linton Fraser regained the lead for Maloney in the 71st minute. Once again, Lezama replied for Athletico in the 73rd minute before Richard Goray snatched an 83rd minute winner.

The victory carried Athletico to nine points from five matches, just one ahead of T&T Prisons, who were hammered by T&T Air Guard 4-0. Nestor Andrews (36th), Seon Jack (61st), Marlon Wickham (72nd) and Dale Assoon (89th) scored a goal each for Air Guard, now third on the table with seven points, the same as WASA and Joe Public, which have only played three matches each.

In the First Division, Malabar made it five straight wins to start the season, with a 3-0 trouncing of Boss FC with Dorian Daniel scoring a pair. Daniel netted in the 31st and 43rd minute before Peter James added an 83rd minute item. Second placed, 1st FC Santa Rosa stayed within three points of the leaders after it blasted Malta Carib Alcons 8-0 inspired by Robert Alexis’ beaver-trick.
