University of South Florida sophomore Kevon Neaves has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 15, as announced by the league office today.

Neaves scored two goals and recorded one assist to help guide USF to a 2-0-0 record for the week. The Petit Valley, Trinidad, native notched the game-winning goal in the 106th minute during USF’s 2-1 double overtime victory over Syracuse on Sunday, Oct. 15. The win clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Championship and extended USF’s unbeaten streak to four games. The goal was a 23-yard free kick, which Neaves bent around the wall and towards the near post. He was also responsible for setting up USF’s first goal of the match, registering his fourth assist of the season. Earlier in the week, Neaves blasted his first goal of the season on a similar free kick during USF’s 3-1 win over Stetson (Oct. 12). Neaves’ insurance goal help lead the Bulls to their 22nd win all-time over the Hatters. On the year, the sophomore midfielder has record two goals and four assists for eight points.

This marks the first-career BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor for Neaves and the first honor of the season for the second-year starter.
