WVIAC Tournament champion Alderson-Broaddus claimed two of the top three honors for the 2008 league men's soccer season.  Battler head coach Dan Kelly was honored by his peers as Coach of the Year, while rookie midfielder Chris Doran was named the Freshman of the Year.  West Virginia Wesleyan's Anthony Peters grabbed Player of the Year honors after leading the 'Cats to the conference regular season title.

Peters netted seven goals and dished out a pair of assists as Wesleyan finished 11-8-2.  The senior midfielder also notched three game-winning goals.  The Baton Rouge, LA native also helped anchor a defense that led the WVIAC in goals against average at 0.97 goals per game.

Doran ranked third on the squad at Alderson-Broaddus with four goals and a pair of assists.  The Rotherham, England freshman played a large role in a Battler squad that improved throughout the season and ended with an 11-9-1 record and a WVIAC Tournament title.

Kelly rallied his A-B squad from a five-match midseason losing skid to a second place WVIAC regular season finish.  The Battlers recorded matching 2-1 victories over archrivals Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan to claim the WVIAC Tournament title.

West Virginia Wesleyan led the way with five first team selections on the All-WVIAC squad.  Davis & Elkins had three picks, while Alderson-Broaddus and Wheeling Jesuit had two each.
