Influential Brazilian playmaker Gefferson Goulart is calling on all local football fans to come out and support his team W Connection on Tuesday as they get set to take on Mexican Champions Chivas in their home leg Concacaf Club Championship encounter at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium.

“This is a big game for us and the country as we are taking on the champions of Mexico who are a football powerhouse, so that’s why we hope we have a big crowd and everyone come out to show their support as we represent this country”, the player implored.

Goulart went on to describe the spirit within the team as very high since coming back from their pre-season Brazilian tour to defeat Jamaican club Harbour View and local rivals San Juan Jabloteh to be crowned Caribbean champions.

The player admitted though that the teams confidence was a bit rocked by a couple of injury worries affecting key players among them goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams and Silvio Spann.

Another concern that popped up was the unavailability of midfield partner and countryman Ronaldo Viana, who is presently on trial with a South Korean club; however the midfielder brushed off those alarms as nothing to worry about instead praising the younger players like Andrei Pacheco and Hughtun Hector who he believes have stepped up their game.

“It is the responsibility of senior players like Jan Michael, Earl Jean, Elijah Joseph and myself to ensure that the younger players remain calm and focused and I believe that they are ready to go out and prove themselves and enjoy the game at the same time”, Goulart said.

“We also have the mentality that every game is a big game so we should not have any problems we just have to go out and represent the country and the TT Pro League to the best of our abilities,” he ended.
