League leaders Joe Public claimed fifth spot in the bmobile National Super League Knockout tournament with a come from behind victory over M& M Harvard.

The Macoya lads went 2-0 down, before rallying to level the score at the end of regulation time. And in sudden death penalty kicks, they outscored Harvard 8-7 to claim the win at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Sunday.

Harvard took the lead with a 16th minute strike from Jabari Samuel and doubled up seven minutes later through Glen Walker. Public cut the lead in the 49th minute compliments Anthony Thompson, before a 90th minute strike from Dexter Thornhill sent the match to penalty kicks.

Joe Public now have an opportunity to play in the National FA Cup, where the top six teams from the Super League knockout tournament will do battle against the teams from the Digicel Pro League for the coveted trophy. The other teams which have already qualified for the FA competition are Economy Strikers, Queen’s Park Cricket Club and the Defence Force. The electricity company and Strikers are set to meet in the final on Friday.
