KEITH JAMES, a member of the Central Football Association (CFA) General Council, has queried the choice made by the group to back Raymond Tim Kee for the position of president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF).

Tim Kee and Carib’s sponsorship and events manager, Colin Murray, are the unofficial presidential candidates, with the elections set for November 11.

In a letter issued to the media yesterday, James wrote, “can someone from the CFA please explain this — how did we reach there? Do the CFA votes belong to the president/secretary so they can do as they please? No I don’t think so.”

James stated, “I think we, the member clubs of the CFA, have a say in this. We are supposed to hear from each of the candidates their action plan to take the TTFF out of the mess our national football is in right now.

“We, the General Council, not being consulted in such an important decision indicates that something is wrong in the way we do business — we need to do things differently. James said, “three men voting as delegates on behalf of 12 clubs must consider our opinions.”

He also called for the CFA to practice truth and honesty, while creating a new culture in how things are done within the group.

“I am making an appeal to all clubs in CFA,” James continued, “let us kindly request that our General Council convene as soon as possible and let the clubs give each candidate the opportunity to address us.

“While it may be late to attempt article 10.11 of our Constitution at this time, we can still appeal to the conscience of the executive members,” he ended.
