FORMER TRINIDAD and Tobago youth team defender Nicholas Walker is among two defenders selected by FC Dallas in their late-round 2014 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft selections last Tuesday.

With their third round pick, FC Dallas chose Nicholas Walker, a defender out of Farleigh Dickinson University.

Walker started 71 games over four years with the Knights and earned Northeast Conference Defender of the Year honours in 2013. Walker is a two-time NCAA Division I Men’s All-North Atlantic Region First Team honoree.

The six-feet three-inch tall Walker, who turned 24 last Thursday, he was a member of St Mary’s College where he was named Defender of the Year in 2007 and Player of the Year in 2008.

He was part of the Trinidad and Tobago squad that earned qualification for the 2009 FIFA World Cup in Egypt, but was one of the final three players cut from the 25-man training squad, prior to the World Cup.
