Trinidad and Tobago international defender Carlyle Mitchell scored a brace to give his new team Kingfisher East Bengal a 2-0 victory over Calcutta Customs in the Kolkata Premier League.

East Bengal head the league table with two victories, after opening the season on August 12 with a 4-1 win over Rainbow. And today Mitchell will be looking to continue his good form at East Bengal when they meet Peerless, the other team in the league with wins in its opening two matches.

On Wednesday, recently-recruited Mitchell headed (75’ and 90+3’) in twice to see his side through to the top of the table in the Kolkata league. Also in the East Bengal team was T&T forward Willis Plaza.

East Bengal left it for the last 15 minutes to score twice to beat Calcutta Customs in their second game of the 2017 Calcutta Football League (CFL) Premier Division A.

The much needed goal came in the 75th minute when Mitchell headed in Cavin Lobo’s curling corner.
