COLLIN SAMUEL is managing to juggle his personal and professional responsibilities as he embarks on an exciting new era.

The recent birth of baby son Quinn has lit up his domestic life, while Samuel is also enthused about working under new manager Craig Brewster at Dundee United.

And, as he looked forward to today’s trip to Celtic Park, the striker revealed that he is happily coping with the sleepless nights at home as well as the tough training regime at work.

“I have been managing fine this week and I am delighted with how things have gone for me,” he said.

“I have been able to catch some sleep and things are settling down quite well.

“My family is a large one—I have five sisters and two brothers as well as lots of nieces and nephews—so I am used to it.

“I have also been working hard at training and there have been a lot of tired legs among the squad.

“There have been two sessions almost every day but hopefully we can all benefit from that.

“It will maybe help me to be even fitter and quicker and every player should always try to improve himself.”

Quinn’s arrival in the early hours of last Saturday morning meant his father had to start the game against Aberdeen from the bench.

But with his pace a good weapon with which to hit Celtic on the break, he should find himself promoted this afternoon.

“It was unfortunate that I missed the start but I did get on and we played well in the second half,” he added.

“It is always tough down at Parkhead but we will go there with a positive attitude.”

What would really make Samuel’s season extra special would be inclusion in the Trinidad and Tobago squad for the World Cup finals in Germany in the summer.

He failed to make the pool for the decisive play-off with Bahrain but remains optimistic that if he does well for his club then his country will come calling.

“We have a game against Iceland in London on February 28 then another one against Peru in Trinidad (in May).

“Obviously, I would love to be involved for those.

“I just need to keep playing well for Dundee United and hope I get picked.”
