After another exciting performance from Josh Johnson, the Trinidadian winger was keen to thank Denis Smith for giving him a chance to start.

"I want to show the coach what I can do. He has shown faith in me and I appreciate it."

Despite being a right winger, Johnson's most eye-catching performances, against Birmingham, Notts County and now Lincoln, have come when he started on the left, and twice against The Imps he cut in and nearly registered his first goal for Wrexham, curling the ball just wide of the far post in the first half and drawing a fine tip-over from Alan Marriott in the closing minutes.

"Right, left, it's basically the same role. I prefer the right but I don't mind which side I play on. A footballer should be able to use both feet so it shouldn't make a difference if I cross with my right, left, or whatever!"

An unexpected side of Johnson's game last Saturday was his defensive work. On a couple of ocasions he tracked back to make crucial interceptions and even muscle opponents off the ball!

"You have to be able to attack and defend, so I have to work back and do my bit! I try to settle in everywhere I play and work hard."
