Defender Atiba Charles declares that he left Irish Premier Division side Glenavon because the club breached his contract before it ended.

Charles is currently back home and is unhappy with the way in which the Irish club conducted it’s business with him. Hence he decided that it was the right decision to leave and return to Trinidad and is currently looking ahead to starting the 2007 Pro League season with a club here.

“The club breached my contract and I wasn’t pleased about it. It involved payment of wages. I was being paid half my wages for a long time. As a matter of fact I was only paid my full due for one month and then on top of that they started taking money out of my salary for apartment bills. This was all contrary to the agreement we had. I couldn’t take it for too much longer,” Charles said on Thursday as he assisted former Barnsley midfielder Clint Marcelle with a coaching camp.

Charles added that he hoped to make his way back into the National Team, aware of comments that head coach Wim Rijsbergen made to the effect that he hopes to have the best available squad together for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in June.
