Brent Sancho has been rumored to have signed a contract for the remainder of the T&T Pro League season with North East Stars.

Trini-trio flying T&T flag high in Puerto Rico

Islanders Trinis' Jagdeosingh, Henry and Osei Telesford is playing a big part in Puerto Rico's 2008 success. Jagdeosingh is one of the club's leading goal scorers, Telesford adds stability to their midfield and of recent - have found the back of the net on many occasions one in patricluar against Club Santos Laguna (MEX) in the CONCACAF Champions League. Henry is a solid center back and a main stay in defence, all three players are also regular starters. Puerto Rico who currently sits atop of the USL first division league table after a great come back win over Leslie Fitzpatrick's Rochester Rhinos who by the way took their 2-0 aggregate lead over the Puerto Rico Islanders into leg two of the USL First Division semifinal round last Sunday, but were unable to advance to their seventh league title game as Puerto Rico scored twice in the first half to level the series, and in the final minute of series overtime to advance to the final 3-2 on aggregate.

For that game Puerto Rico was without former T&T defender Nigel Henry through injury though. However, Kendall Jagdeosingh and Osei Telesford played a huge part in the game and could be rewarded some silverware for their hard work this season and also get a chance of having their names recorded into the history books as Puerto Rico Islanders has never won the USL title. Head coach Colin Clarke of Northern Ireland will surely hope Henry recovers in time for the final.

Up next for the Islanders are Canadian champs and USL second place team Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada on October 12th (the game will be televised live on Fox Soccer Channel in the U.S). But that's not all for the Puerto Rican based team, they have maintained 100 per cent record in the Champions League as well. They sit atop the Concacaf Championship League table in Group D and have a good chance to get into the next round. Which, by the way was no fluke for Islanders. They defeating top teams such as LD Alajuelense (CRC), Tauro F.C (PAN), Santos Laguna (MEX) and drew with Guatemala's CSD Municipal (2-2) to get their. They were also the ones who eliminated T&T 2007 champs San Juan Jabloteh from the regions top league.

US born Edson Elcock who is eligible to represent T&T was once attached to the club and has now resigned to continue his education, he played in 9 games scoring 2 goals during his time there. Leslie Fitzpatrick (Rochester Rhinos) will finish the USL league 4th, Avery John (Miami FC Blues) 9th place, striker Randi Patterson (Charleston Battery, 5th) and Brent Sancho (Atlanta Silverbacks, 10th).
