Tony Warner expects Jimmy Bullard to energise the Tigers when he returns to full fitness.

The Tigers' third-choice keeper, 35, spent three years as a Fulham player, two of those years alongside the midfielder.

And he cites Bullard's unquenchable enthusiasm and passion for the game as the reason why he will inspire his team-mates.

Warner said: "Jimmy's an infectious player, a very good-quality player.

"He's keen to get on the ball all the time.

"He's energetic, all over the pitch really.

"I wouldn't say he's a luxury player but he's a very skilful and well thought-of player.

"He had an England call-up and they don't hand them out to mugs.

"He's been injured but everyone knows he's about every single day.

"He's not one of these lads who comes in and just does his work, keeping his head down.

"He's boisterous off the pitch and on the pitch. You can't really change him.

"I think he will be a good asset to us and it is a shame he got injured."

Bullard, of course, makes his long-awaited return to the first team tonight at Craven Cottage, his former stamping ground.

And whether he starts or even gets on the pitch, Warner knows there's only one thing the home fans will do.

He continued: "He'll get a fantastic reception. He was very well liked down there by all the players and all the fans.

"I was at Fulham when Jimmy got his last injury.

"He was out for maybe 18 months but the fans were still cheering his name.

"I have never really seen that with other players.

"When you are out that long you are very much forgotten about, people don't realise you are still there.

"But for Jimmy at Fulham that wasn't the case."
