Trinidad and Tobago international Jake Thomson has committed himself to Forest Green until at least the end of the current season.

The 22-year-old arrived on loan from Kettering Town in late September and after finding his feet within Rovers structure, has been an ever-present and one of Rovers best over the past month – including a man-of-the-match effort against Darlington and an impressive goal-scoring display against Tamworth.

Hockaday said: “Jake’s agreed to sign until at least the end of this season and he is keen to commit himself to Forest Green Rovers beyond this."

Thomson learned his trade at Southampton FC under the tutelage of Hockaday and has shown his versatility in recent weeks, being shifted from the wing to central midfield and even played at centre-back for more than half of Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Lincoln City following Jamie Turley’s red-card.
