Swindon Town's squad were back in training on Tuesday with Coate Water the venue for another running session.

Footballs have largely been kept away with running and circuit training being the order of the day for the squad, with several trialists in attendance.

One of Town's new summer signings Ricky Shakes spoke to STFC World after Tuesday's session and gave us his thoughts on training so far.

"It was ok and I am getting used to the new surroundings. The training ground is lovely and the pitches look to be in great shape. The facilities at Bolton were excellent but things here look to be pretty good too."

In making the move to Wiltshire, Shakes is joined by another ex-Bolton player - Charlie Comyn-Platt.

"Charlie has a good personality and is easy to get along with. He is a composed defender and I'm sure he will do well at Swindon," he said speaking about Comyn-Platt

Over the past few seasons Town have been blessed with a number of players who can fill in a variety of positions. Could Shakes be another Mr.Versatile?

"I played in a few positions for Bolton Reserves and I am just looking forward to getting out on the pitch really. This is a big career move for me and it is a massive year for me. I need to try and get as much first team involvement as I can," said Shakes.
