Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce has nothing but praise for Dwight Yorke's attitude since the striker moved to St Andrews.

Yorke joined Blues from Blackburn Rovers on transfer deadline day after several bust-ups with former Ewood Park chief Graeme Souness.

His off-field activities have also regularly garnered headlines, but Bruce has encountered no problems in managing Yorke.

Instead, Bruce is merely thankful that he fought off the overtures of Scottish champions Celtic to secure Yorke's signature.

"I have been extremely pleased with Dwight's attitude ever since he came here," said Bruce.

"He has great skills, fantastic ability and he has scored goals wherever he has been.

"And he's keen to do well. The fact that two hours after training, he will still be here working in the gym proves that.

"I can only speak about how he has been since he moved here and I am delighted with him.

"He is bright and bubbly, he is fantastic to have around the place.

"Thank goodness that he chose us instead of Celtic. Dwight does not have to prove anything to anyone."
