ST JOHNSTONE boss Owen Coyle is delighted to have one of his players gracing the international stage—as long as he comes back unscathed.

Jason Scotland became the first Saint since Algeria’s Rachid Djebailli in 2001 to represent his country when he starred for Trinidad and Tobago in their win against Guatemala in a World Cup qualifier at the weekend.

He should also be involved tomorrow night when the Soca Warriors travel to Costa Rica.

Scotland will then face a race against time to return for the Perth men’s home match against Ross County on Saturday.

“It is great for the club to have someone involved at that level but I will have my fingers crossed that he doesn’t get injured and makes it back on time,” said Coyle.

“While the Scotland lads will be in their homes on Thursday following their trip to Norway, Jason has a long haul flight and it is not ideal.”
