UNLUCKY DUNDEE goalkeeper Kelvin Jack is facing up to a month on the sidelines after injuring himself during the derby win over Dundee United.

The big Trinidadian was handed a golden chance to impress manager Jim Duffy on Saturday after regular No 1 Derek Soutar was deemed unfit to start because of illness.

However, Jack lasted only half-an-hour before hobbling off, leaving Soutar to shake off his sickness and take over.

“We thought Kelvin had a groin strain originally but the problem is with the muscle that runs down the side of the thigh,” said Duffy.

“He damaged it when he kicked a ball upfield.

“If, as we suspect, it is torn then he will be out for three to four weeks.

“That is not good news for the player, nor the club. We are now left with Derek and young Scott Murray, who is only 16 years of age.”

Steven Robb has joined Jack in the treatment room and his hamstring problem already makes him a doubt for Saturday’s away match against Motherwell.

Stephen McNally (tight calf) and Iain Anderson (thigh) are also causing concern but should be available for the trip to Fir Park.
