I lived in yard for a short spell. crime in yard is concentrated to only small areas, primerily in kingston, these pockets of criminal activity in kingston does not affect the whole of Jamaica, mainly kingston, but in select areas such as east kingston , down town kingston , west kingston , st Andrew which is not really kingston geographically but it's considered to be kingston, in comparison to T&T it would be like POS and barataria. but these little areas is where most of the criminal activities are perpetrated. a lot of Jamaica's murders are as a result of political strife. only about 40% of murders are actually of a non political nature. but when i was there you had to be very careful of where you go especially at night.
one thing i could say about that place, there is no law and order whatsoever, it's the most worthless police force in the world IMO, the police are rotten to the fackin core and it's nothing for them to kill a decent law abiding citizen for no reason at all. that place is a facking mad house if you ask me, and it's the politicians to blame. that country need's a serious coup or a divine intevention. BC of these crooked politicians and law men, i fear that Jamaica would not know peace unless they clean up their police force, and the politicians have to come to some sort of amickable agreement to work together to clean up the mess they themselves created over the years, but until then is chaos.
trini on the other hand don't have that callousness as of yet BC it's just taking root, remember when we was enjoying peace and safety Jamaica was going at it hard. but if we don't clean up our police force and start getting serious with criminals of all sort, we might end up worst than Jamaica. remember this , our politicians are just as corrupt, the only difference is , we don't tout the gang leaders to do our dirty work in order to stay in political power. lets hope and pray that doesn't happen. positive.
