St Ann's Rangers took the sting out of San Juan Jabloteh's attack on Tuesday night, in the second match of a Digicel T&T Pro League double-header, and secured a 2-1 victory over their opponents in the process.

At Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Jabloteh took the lead in just the second minute through Willis Plaza, but Cameron Roget equalised within the half-hour. Devon Modeste found the winner for Rangers six minutes after half-time.

But the upset of the day belonged to Police, who held up T&TEC with a 4-1 whipping at Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

The "Lawmen" got three goals in the final 14 minutes to steal full points from the "Electricity Boys", after the teams were locked at 1-1 at half-time.

Errol Charles gave Police a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute, only for T&TEC's Javed Mohammed to cancel that strike in the 30th.

But Charles (76th minute), Todd Ryan (79th) and Kelon Williams (90th) registered late second half goals to put the result beyond doubt.

At the "Ato Boldon", Jabloteh got a dream start thanks in part to poor Rangers defending. Defender Sheldon Bateau took a throw on the right flank and Nicholas Valentine took far too long to control, allowing Plaza to poke the ball away.

The striker raced into Rangers' penalty area and tucked the ball home with a two-footed slide as Rangers goalkeeper Shane Mattis raced out to intercept it.

In the 29th, Roget exploited some loose marking from Jabloteh, Kaashif Thomas squeezing through a ball for his teammate to fire in, and the ball looped home after a big deflection off Sheldon Bateau.

In the 51st Modeste scored what turned out to be the winner, again credited to the Bourg Mulatresse side's poor defending.

Jabloteh's attempt to possess the ball in defence backfired when Karlon Murray was tackled and Keron Alexander chipped the loose ball into the penalty area for Modeste to chest down and volley home in one swift motion, from seven metres out.

The earlier match at the Ato Boldon Stadium saw Caledonia edge past North East Stars on a Jamal Gay strike.

And in Tuesday's fourth Pro League encounter, defending champions Defence Force were shot down 1-0 by W Connection at Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, with Keron Cummings netting for the "Savonetta Boys" three minutes into stoppage time.

The loss was the Army/CoastGuard combined team's second straight defeat after a break for them and Police due to the recent State of Emergency (SoE).

Defence Force, with two losses, are yet to register a point this season.
