Defence Force striker Richard Roy scored a second half double on Friday night stunning title contenders W Connection to a 2-0 defeat at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, as the ‘Savonetta Boys’ slipped off the top and into third with 27 points following victories and upward movement by T&TEC FC and Caledonia AIA.

At the Larry Gomes Stadium, Roy’s former club teammate Devorn Jorsling branding the Caledonia AIA strip, also scored twice to guide the Morvant/Laventille side to a 3-2 win over DIRECTV North East Stars in their Round Three Match Day Three fixture.

Caledonia moved up a spot into second with 29 points, tied with leaders T&TEC which registered a 2-1 comeback win over Police FC, but behind by a lesser goals difference.

Roy registered his items in the 68th and 90th minutes while Jorsling still fresh from his midweek hattrick for the Trinidad and Tobago Senior Team in a 4-0 win over Antigua/Barbuda had Caledonia in front by the 23rd minute shooting from close range to defeat goalkeeper Andre Marchan.

North East Stars Brazilian forward Jeronimo ‘Wendes’ De Sousa then leveled the scores 1-1 with his second goal in as many matches by turning away two defenders to open room for himself above the area before slotting a powerful low shot into the far netting in the 35th minute.

De Sousa was involved in North East Stars second item when he played Ryan Stewart above the area and the talented midfielder made a couple step-overs before blasting a low shot just inside the upright for a 2-1 advantage.

But in the 73rd minute Caledonia equalized with a brilliant goal by midfielder Ataullah Guerra, simply guiding Walter Moore’s low cross from the left past goalkeeper Marchan for a 2-2 score.

And ten minutes from time Jorsling registered his second of the night with a quick turn and powerful left footed strike to beat Marchan from distance for a 3-2 Caledonia advantage.

Caledonia missed out on a fourth item in the 88th minute when substitute Conrod Smith stumbled with an empty goal at his mercy after evading goalkeeper Marchan just two minutes after replacing Jamal Gay.
