Walsall's Andy Butler shake hands with Vale players.Walsall FC started their mini-tour of Trinidad and Tobago with a strong 3-1 victory over Super League Club Stokely Vale FC at the Dwight Yorke Stadium training ground, Tobago, yesterday afternoon.

The Saddlers had a few Tobago-born players in their line-up including sixteen year-old Nicholas Dillon, Brandon Joseph, Gem Gordon, Dwight Pope, talented Central FC strikers Darryl Trim and Rundell Winchester all of whom turned out for the English League One team.

1976 FC Phoenix striker Gem Gordon scored Walsall's second goal to help lead the West Midland team to victory. However, Stokely Vale kept things a little respectable when they scored a superb free-kick from Dominic "Munchen" McDougall but in the end it would be the English side who would prevail.

Ben George and Kieron Morris were the other goalscoers for the Saddlers.

Darryl Trim meanwhile, had an impressive game for the English-based outfit and has drawn close attention by Saddlers manager Dean Smith.

The game were viewed by a decent size crowd. It was also reported that the Walsall players enjoyed the game and it was apparent that Tobago football people appreciated the visit.

Today Walsall will host a session with around 100 youngsters from Tobago before leaving for Trinidad where they are schedule to play a Pro League XI on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium from 6pm.

Walsall will then wrap up it's tour against host club Central F.C. on Tuesday, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, at 7pm. Gates are $30 dollars, and it also covers Central FC Ladies versus Barataria Ballers two hours earlier, two games for the price of one - be there.
