Point Lisas Industrial Estate, Couva. February 11th 2015. DIRECTV W Connection FC can announce the signings of Canadian players Brad Beaumont and Maleik De Freitas during the January transfer window, following receipt of their international transfer certificates.

Beaumont and De Freitas ages 22 and 19 respectively were recently part of the Toronto Skills FC academy in which former DIRECTV W Connection and “Soca Warriors” player Leslie “Tiger” Fitzpatrick is the co-founder alongside Jake Doodnath and Dietmar Mertel and the Technical Director.

Fitzpatrick who was capped 32 times by Trinidad and Tobago during his 10 year professional career described the signings as both mutually beneficial for the duos individual careers and DIRECTV W Connection.

“I immediately thought about W Connection as a landing spot for them that would be mutually beneficial to both the club and the players. They complement W Connection's style of play and the coaching philosophy of the staff and being with a club that has such a high standard of play and success can only augur well for their development”, said Fitzpatrick.

He continued: “The fact that W Connection also has a successful tradition in the CONCACAF Champions League is also very appealing and both players are highly motivated to help W Connection get back to the main bracket of the tournament once again and to contribute an even more successful run in the edition of the tournament this year.”

Beamount who is a graduated from St Bonaventure University is described by his coaches as cerebral defender who is strong in the air and capable of playing in the midfield if needed.

19 year old De Fraitas is credited with being a skilled attacking player that is good with both feet and can play any of the attacking positions on the field based on the coaches preferred formation. Fitzpatrick noted he was recently in Germany where the coaches liked his skill and technical ability but wanted him to build up his strength and physical components of his game to transition to playing with professional adults.

Technical Director/Coach Stuart Charles-Fevrier highlighted that Fitzpatricks role in acquiring Beaumont and De Freitas is a testament to the excellent relationship DIRECTV W Connection has with its past players.
