St. Ann’s Rangers were up to mischief again, this time holding third-placed San Juan Jabloteh to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Barataria Recreation Ground.

It took Jabloteh star Nathan Lewis -- on his first Digicel Pro League game this season -- less than a minute to put the San Juan Kings ahead.

But it wasn’t enough against this season’s most improved outfit, Rangers, who have already garnered league wins over Defence Force, Police FC and Point Fortin Civic, and a draw against Courts Morvant Caledonia United.

Dylon King, a new offensive signing by Rangers coach Anthony Streete, levelled the visitors 1-1 in the 68th minute for his fourth league goal of the term.

The result slowed the Keith Jeffrey coached-Jabloteh, who joined second-placed W Connection on 16 points, while leaders and two-time defending champions Central FC are three points clear at the top with 19.

Jabloteh, who were on a four-game winning streak in the league prior to kick-off on Sunday, will return to play on Friday Nov. 25 against Connection from 6pm in a top-of-the-table clash when league action moves to the Santa Cruz Recreation Ground for the first time in the history of the Pro League.

Jeffrey would definitely want to have his star forward Lewis against Connection, who picked up their fourth straight league win on Friday with a 3-1 win over Morvant Caledonia.

Lewis, who was shot in the shoulder during a drive-by shooting in his Maloney hometown back in September, made his first appearance for Jabloteh off the bench against Ma Pau Stars in the play-off round of the First Citizens Cup on Nov. 8. But Jabloteh lost that game 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile Rangers, who must next face Central on Tuesday Nov. 29 in the second game of a double-header at the Ato Boldon Stadium, hurdled Ma Pau Stars by one point to now occupy fourth position with 11 points.

League play resumes tomorrow (Tuesday Nov. 22) with a double-header at the Ato Boldon Stadium when Ma Pau Stars take on Morvant Caledonia from 6pm and Defence Force against Police FC in a battle of the armed forced from 8pm.
