US based defender Anthony Noreiga is the latest addition made by the 2006 Pro League Champions B Mobile Joe Public. This was confirmed by Technical Director of the club Keith Lookloy who informed ttproleague.com the player signed a two year contract

“We have included Noreiga in our team for this season and also plan to use him next season. He agreed to a two year contract and we are very happy about it,” he confirmed.

The Technical Director also explained his reasons for signing the 25 year old defender, “Noreiga has been part of the Trinidad and Tobago national team pool for some time now and this means he has the eye of the national coaches.”

“He is tall, strong, has good ball control technique and very comfortable when he has possession of the ball. Overall he is a great player and I felt that we couldn’t go wrong in signing him,” said Lookloy confidently.

Noreiga finished last season in the United States with A League Club, Vancouver White Caps after finishing his studies at the George Mason University.

The former Princess Town Senior Comprehensive player now admits his aim is to be part of the Trinidad and Tobago national senior team hence his reason for joining the Pro League champions.
Speaking with ‘ttproleague.com’ Noreiga said, “The option of being closer to home was made possible to me by Joe Public and I agreed to join the team. Joe Public is a very good Club and I am very happy to be part of,” he said.

“My key reason for joining Joe Public is really because I want to be part of the national team and this
gives me the opportunity of being close enough to attract the national coaches.”

Anthony Noreiga had been included in a pool of players selected by national coach Wim Rijsbergen late last year for preparations leading up to the Digicel Caribbean Cup, but didn’t make the final squad to represent the national team.

Currently Noreiga is enjoying his new football home for the last three weeks with the Macoya based team saying, “The managers are excellent, the players are great and have an excellent attitude towards the game. We have been preparing for the new season and I know we will have a great season,” ended the lanky defender.
