Tobagonian Andell Noray has been the latest addition to defending Digicel Pro League champions Joe Public.

The 19 year old forward is expected to bring some life in attack with last season’s ace forward Kerry Baptiste looking nothing but a shadow of himself and nursing a hamstring injury for quite some time.

“He (Noray) has been on the radar of Joe Public for the past two years,” said head coach Derek King. “He has matured a lot since then and we think that he can bring some quality to our attacking system.

King added, “We saw him with the T&T U23s training and he is very quick and has a good understanding of the game. He can either play outside left or as a centre forward.”

A lot will be expected from the now former Tobago Phoenix player of Bon Accord as Joe Public occupy fourth position with 13 points after Round One Match Day Nine—eleven points behind leaders Defence Force and separated by W Connection (17 points) and Ma Pau SC (15 points).

Noray who hopes to someday play in the European leagues said, “I’m here to do my best for Joe Public. I’m a striker and that’s to score goals.

“I’m aware that I have to work hard and it will be a challenge for me [coming into a team with a lot of talented players], but it’s a challenge I accept.”

The five-title defending champions have also made a number of managerial changes following a string of disappointing results with League leaders Defence Force favoured to win the 2010 title.

Ralph “Arab” Nelson will work together with King as joint head coaches while Rajesh Latchoo will continue as assistant coach and Joseph Romeo comes in as new team administrator.

The changes were made last month with assistant coach Dale Saunders relegated to the Joe Public Eastern Football Association side.

Joe Public coming off an impressive 3-2 comeback vicory over DIRECTV North East Stars last Friday will be in action on Saturday against St. Ann’s Rangers from 4pm at the Larry Gomes Stadium.
