Meantime Connection dropped fourth with their 28 points, two points behind third positioned Caledonia AIA who suffered a 2-0 defeat against Defence Force at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Police surrender to Ma Pau.

Police FC surrendered to a 3-1 defeat on Tuesday night against Ma Pau SC in the first clash of a Round Two Match Day Seven double header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium after taking the lead one minute into the match.

Noel Williams gave the Lawmen a dream start when his intended cross from the right left goalkeeper Shane Mattis beaten as the Lawmen celebrated 1-0 advantage.

However the ninth positioned Police went on to concede three goals before the end with Ma Pau’s Leslie Fitzpatrick(7th minute), Lyndon Andrews(16th minute) and Seon Power(86th minute) all getting on the scoresheet.

Ma Pau jumped one spot up the 2010-2011 Digicel Pro League standings into sixth with 26 points, while Police remained ninth on the 10-team table with 10 points.

After going up early against Ma Pau, Police saw it’s advantage vanish in the 7th minute when Ma Pau leveled the scores 1-1 through midfielder Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick had the easy task of placing a low shot into the net from just inside the area after Trevin Caesar made a strong run down the right, even leaving defender Kyle Andrews injured by his pace, before squaring a low pass into space for his teammate's easy take.

Ma Pau then went ahead 2-1 in the 16th minute through a strike from distance by Lyndon Andrews which goalkeeper Marshall watched into as he stood motionless.

Police goalscorer and captain Williams had a decent effort overbar in the 27th minute flashing just over from Todd Ryan's freekick from the right.

And less than two minutes later Ryan's ball over the top set Williams free towards goal but he never took control of the ball and his shot spilled wide.

Five minutes from the half Williams was at it again, this time his volley off Kaaron Foster's cross from the right was measured brilliantly by Mattis' save putting it behind for a corner.

Four minutes into the second period Ma Pau's Shane Calderon was denied by the crossbar on the counterattack after looping a shot over an advancing Marshall.

Marshall later made a fumble in the 86th minute on Aquil Selby's cross from the right allowing an easy tap in by Power for Ma Pau's 3-1 victory.

Ma Pau will visit DIRECTV North East Stars from 6pm at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Saturday in their next match, while Police FC will host Bmobile Joe Public from 6pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
