Trincity Nationals beat 1st FC Santa Rosa via kicks from the penalty spot in the Knock-out final of the 2012 Eddie Hart Football League (EHFL) off-season under-23 competition last weekend at the Eddie Hart Savannah in Tacarigua.
After a 2-2 draw at the end of normal time last Sunday, the Trincity youngsters prevailed 4-2 on penalties to turn back a spirited Santa Rosa outfits.
The lads from Arima qualified for the last two by the same route as they stopped tournament favourites Alcons Madrid 5-3 on penalties in their semi-final contest.
This affair finished deadlock 1-1 at the conclusion of the regulation time, with Shaquille Antoine hitting the back of the net for Santa Rosa, while Dheron Sutherland replied for Madrid.
In last weekend’s final, David Lezama and Aaron Auguste netted for Santa Rosa, while Rashad Griffith and Dion Gabriel scored for Trincity Nationals, who booked their place in the final courtesy of a close 3-2 win over Petit Bourg Youths.
Griffith had a brace and Kylon Gay single item in that win. Keon John and Jayon Murray netted for the losers.
