The ‘Big 8’ of the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League commences this weekend with a rematch of the 2015 final at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground. Defending champions G Madrid will play two-time losing finalists Gremio on Saturday with a place in the semifinal up for grabs.
Other matches in the ‘Big 8’ the following weekend will see Take That and Cool It come up against Coca All-Stars while round-robin winners Dragon FC will face the victor of a playoff between Boys Town and Manzanilla FC.
Organiser Prakash Ramkissoon is reminding all teams to be on time for their matches. All matches in the ‘Big 8’ will be played at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground with the final carded for November 19. Action kicks off at 3.15 pm.
